Mike
Alvarez Texas Tour Continued with 3 shows in Austin and
San Antonio
Former
Texan, music and filmmaker Mike Alvarez continued his
Texas music tour promoting his new album “2324” with three
dates in April. The album (see http://www.notrecordstapes.com
) was written and tracked in 2 days on April 23 th
and 24 th in 2005. A 3D documentary by Tom Koester
titled “2324: The Making of an Underground Rock Album”
will premiere on at the
Pig N Whistle on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood California
on May 26th.
Alvarez
started his tour in December with a 3D sneak preview of
the documentary and a solo acoustic performance at Rudyard's
in Houston. On March 31 st , Alvarez performed
with friends at The Whiskey A-Go-Go in West Hollywood
to an enthusiastic audience (see http://www.notrecordstapes.com
for pictures and video footage). Alvarez plays
Portland Oregon in June and is planning shows in Chicago
and New York before it gets too damn cold.
Alvarez
was a member of the popular 80s Austin group Max
and the Makeups. As a producer in Texas, he
recorded some of Austin's greatest including Roky Erickson,
The True Believers, Daniel Johnston and dozens of others.
Alvarez has resided in Hollywood California
since 1988. The recent Texas shows included:
